In Topolná, the Muzeum v přírodě preserves buildings of folk architecture. They show the typical house style of the Morava region, built from unfired bricks. The publicly accessible building No. 93, with its furnishings, conveys the living conditions of a farmstead from the late 19th century. Other exhibitions focus on washing and fishing; the museum also includes a historic smithy. The orchard contains a fruit-drying kiln and an apiary. Topolná therefore offers a tangible complement to the representative castles and religious buildings: here, the focus is on rural everyday life in the past.

The Vlčnovské búdy form the largest protected collection of above-ground wine-production buildings in the Czech Republic. They were used for pressing, tasting and storing wine. The Museum of Folk Distilleries in Vlčnov also documents the domestic production of slivovitz and fruit brandies along the Moravian-Slovak border. Buchlovice Chateau provides a different architectural accent as an important Baroque residence with a Baroque garden.

Landscape and outings at different paces

The Chřiby Nature Park is characterized by beech forests, rock formations, springs, viewpoints and deep valleys. After climbing 127 steps, the Rovnina lookout tower offers wide views over the Morava Valley, Chřiby, the White Carpathians, the Hostýn Hills and the Vizovice Highlands. For days in nature with a special wildlife and landscape experience, Živá voda Modrá is a clearly defined destination: a glass tunnel displays aquatic life from the Morava ecosystem, nearby streams and ponds. The complex also includes Moravian habitats such as a spring from Chřiby, a herb garden and a floodplain forest. A wooden footbridge crosses an enclosure with aurochs.

The cycling path along the Baťa Canal has only gentle gradients and is considered suitable for families, seniors and inline skaters. The 45-kilometre Uherskohradišťská Wine Route is an easy cycling loop from Uherské Hradiště via Ostrožská Nová Ves and Vlčnov back to Uherské Hradiště. Those looking for a more demanding hike will find a considerably more challenging route in the 59-kilometre Velkomoravská pilgrimage trail. It runs from Uherské Hradiště via Cimburk and Buchlovice back to Uherské Hradiště, linking Great Moravian heritage with monuments from later periods. The section through Modrá includes the Archeoskanzen open-air museum and the Živá voda freshwater exhibition.
