Nezdenice – Outdoor Pool, Mineral Spring and Historical Discoveries

Nezdenice combines a riverside landscape, an outdoor pool, distinctive natural features and historic architecture in a compact local setting. The municipality lies east of Uherský Brod and stretches along both banks of the Olšava. This creates a destination that can be explored through landscape and activity as well as through individual cultural and historical discoveries.

Nature at the Outdoor Pool and in the Surrounding Area

Near the local outdoor pool and close to Nezdenská skala, the Nezdenická kyselka spring emerges. In addition to mineral water, it contains a clearly perceptible amount of hydrogen sulfide, which gives the water its characteristic taste and smell.

The various forms of former mining also shape this part of the village. The former quarry near the outdoor pool lies in a wooded natural landscape that is frequently used by local residents for recreation. A partially flooded andesite quarry has become the centre of a natural area known in Nezdenice as Nezdenská skala.

Water, Walks and Active Days

The outdoor pool has a 33-metre-long swimming pool with a slide and diving board, as well as a small round children's pool. During the summer months, it serves leisure and recreation purposes. The location of the outdoor pool also allows for trips and walks in the immediate surroundings. This makes it possible to combine time by the water with short explorations of the surrounding area, while the children's pool and the additional pool features appeal to different interests within a travel group.

There are also recurring events with their own character for hiking enthusiasts. The Nezdenský Tourists organise an autumn hike every year. Traditionally, a march from Luhačovice to Nezdenice takes place on New Year's Eve. Those who prefer to travel by bicycle can use the 11-kilometre Bojkovská magistrála cycle route, which passes through Nezdenice. Thus, in addition to the summer outdoor pool, the village also offers seasonal hiking traditions and a designated cycle route.

Church and Chapel as Historical Landmarks

The Church of St. Peter and Paul is a cultural monument of Nezdenice. Its core dates from the end of the 14th century; the presbytery dates from the 17th century, and the church was later remodelled further. These chronological layers give the building a much longer history than a single date could convey.

Another historical stop lies behind the cemetery on Brodská Street: a chapel from the first half of the 19th century stands there. The chapel in Nezdenice can be reached over sloping ground via a concrete access ramp. It offers a fairly extensive, almost panoramic view of the surrounding area.
