Částkov: History, Nature Park and Cycling Routes

Částkov combines a tranquil landscape with an unusually large number of traces of local history. The municipality borders the Prakšická vrchovina Nature Park directly and lies in a valley where the Lovčice and Řásná streams merge to form the Částkovský potok. Historical Traces in the Village

A notable starting point for exploring the local history is the Částkov archaeological site – “Na hradě”. Partially preserved terrain traces of a fortress built before 1321 can be seen there. The terrain remnant lies on the eastern edge of Částkov, several dozen metres above the church and next to the municipal office building. This precise location makes the historical trace a clear landmark within the village at the same time.

The history of the fortress extends beyond its structural remains. Sources mention the Částkov fortress in 1497 as having already been demolished. Thus, the same site contains not only preserved terrain traces, but also evidence of a building that had already ceased to exist in the recorded local history by the 15th century.

The Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, consecrated in 1898–1899, is part of the village’s religious and local history. Another characteristic detail has been preserved at House No. 37: it contains an agricultural chamber from the 19th century. Such individual testimonies complement the larger historical themes surrounding the fortress and give the village a finely detailed, readily distinguishable historical character.

Žižkův dub and the Nature Park

Southeast of Částkov, the Žižkův dub oak stands in the Prakšická vrchovina Nature Park. Only a torso of the former tree remains today. A local legend associates this place with the army of Jan Žižka having rested there for several days. The account is therefore explicitly to be classified as a legend, while the surviving torso describes the tree’s present condition.

The nearby Prakšická vrchovina Nature Park is described as a harmoniously designed cultural landscape with forests, permanent grassland and fields with copses. There are also thickets, numerous old orchards, pastures and fragments of heat-loving steppe meadows. Cycling and Living Traditions

The marked local cycle route 5176 passes through Částkov. In addition, the Podolí–Jarošov–Březolupy–Částkov–Prakšice–Hradčovice–Podolí cycle route runs through the village.

The annual calendar is also part of Částkov’s character. The traditional Císařské hody s právem festival is held every year. A Fašank procession also takes place annually.
