Březolupy combines a multifaceted castle history with circular routes, a pond area and distinctive local attractions. Here you can combine culture and activity: the castle, Hluboček Pond, several hiking trails, a cycling route and the freely accessible disc golf course offer different options for planning your day. In terms of location, Březolupy lies on an important connection between Zlín and Uherské Hradiště.

Castle History and Local Culture

The original fortress of Březolupy was converted into a Renaissance castle in the 16th century. A further conversion of a fortress into the Březolupy castle is also recorded for the years 1650 to 1668. The village therefore has a clear historical focal point where several construction phases can be seen.

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stands in the village square. The village landscape also includes the stone statue of Saint John of Nepomuk from 1727. Hiking on Short and Longer Circular Routes

The blue “Okolo Březolup” circular route begins and ends at the castle. Over a total distance of 13.9 km, it passes Hluboček Pond and several covered resting places. This allows you to combine the local history with a longer circuit through the surrounding area.

For a shorter route, there are the KAMÉNKA hiking circuit, measuring 5.7 km with an elevation gain of 86 m, and the CHRÁSTKA hiking circuit, measuring 6.2 km with an elevation gain of 96 m. The outer LAPAČ circular route is considerably more extensive, at 11.2 km with an elevation gain of 208 m. You can therefore choose the routes according to distance and elevation gain without reducing the different paths to a single hiking experience.

Cyclists can also use a designated connection: Cycling Route No. 5055 between Topolná and Zlín, classified as moderately difficult and 28 km long, passes through Březolupy. It complements the local circular routes with a longer route between several places.

Hluboček Pond, Educational Trail and Landscape

Hluboček Pond offers opportunities for swimming and relaxing along the shore. It is also an official part of a fishing area managed by the Moravian Anglers’ Union. The Lom Chrástka quarry lies directly by the pond and is designated as a significant landscape feature with notable flora and fauna.

An educational trail at the pond includes two wooden footbridges and a water pavilion with an access footbridge. From there, fauna and flora can be observed and explored farther from the shore, on and beneath the water’s surface. This area complements the hiking trails with a stop where not only the route but also the aquatic landscape itself is the focus.

A freely accessible disc golf course is located in the park behind the health centre. It has four tee areas and four baskets and allows games of up to twelve holes. Since 1963, the Březolupy speedway track has hosted championships, qualifying and junior races, league competitions and open races.
