Baroque Buildings and Traces of the Past

Construction of today’s Baroque church in Jalubí began in 1750 under Abbot Antonín Haucke. Another notable landmark is the High Baroque chapel on the old road to Velehrad. It stands on the hill above Jalubí and was built in 1737. The chapel is freely accessible and adds a particularly vivid connection to the old road link to the village’s historic character.

The protected toll stone also tells a story of Jalubí’s past. It points to a trade route that passed through the village. Its present location is also part of its history: in 1998, the stone was moved from its original site outside the village and placed under a shelter on the main road in Jalubí. The historic village setting also includes the windmill. It was in operation by 1875 at the latest. Today’s windmill is a replica built from 2007 to 2009 on the exposed foundations of the original mill, which had been demolished in 1938. After the end of the paved road, access continues along a field track. Along the way, there are views of the Chřiby and Bílé Karpaty mountains. Those interested in both architectural history and the landscape will therefore find an excursion destination offering two distinct perspectives: the preserved historical connection and views of the surrounding area.

Routes and Cultural Discoveries

The “Klášterní stezky: Jalubí” route leads to the late Baroque “Church of St John the Baptist”. It thus offers another thematic approach to Jalubí and connects the village’s name with a route focused on sacred architecture. A cycling tour also leads to Jalubí via cycle route 5050. This makes it possible to include the village in a bicycle tour without having to view its cultural attractions separately from the other travel experiences.

Mini Golf, Beach Sports and Outdoor Swimming

For active hours, the mini-golf course in Jalubí offers 10 holes with obstacles of varying difficulty. This creates a clearly noticeable variety within a round and makes the course an option for a shared outing where not everyone has to choose the same level of sporting challenge.

The beach volleyball court can also be used for beach football. This means that two different ball games are available at the same facility. During the summer months, the Jalubí outdoor swimming pool adds a stainless-steel pool with swimming lanes to the range of activities. Children have their own pool with water features such as spray jets and a slide. Cultural activities, exercise and water-based fun can therefore be combined into very different daily itineraries, without limiting Jalubí to just one type of excursion.
