Industrial history and the village landscape

In Vysoká Pec, the headframe of the former brown coal mine has been preserved as a protected cultural monument. The Baroque Chapel of the Virgin Mary was built in 1904. The village name probably also refers to its industrial past: it is associated with a blast furnace located at the site of today's settlement at the end of the 18th century and with workers' accommodation. Vysoká Pec can therefore be explored not only through its landscape and leisure facilities, but also through the development of the village.
