Křimov is a destination for travelers who want to combine nature observation, activity and cultural history in a single stay. The Křimov Dam defines the surrounding area, while marked trails, a cycling route and historic sites offer different ways to explore it. Hiking and Cycling Around Křimov

A yellow-marked hiking trail runs along the railway line and forms a circuit between Křimov, the Křimov Dam and the Bezruč Valley. Another option is the 65-kilometer Stezka Českem na Chomutovsku route. It runs from Křimov via Hora Svatého Šebestiána and Blatno to Kalek.

There are also specific starting points for cycling tours. Cycling Route 3008 begins at the Křimov stop and leads to the former Third Mill in the Bezruč Valley. A cycling trip from Chomutov via the Bezruč Valley, the Křimov Dam, Nová Ves and Výsluní leads around the dam.

The Křimov Dam primarily serves as a drinking-water reservoir for Chomutov. Access restrictions are important to bear in mind when visiting: the water surface and the dam wall are not freely accessible; entering Protection Zone I is prohibited for the public. The dam is therefore a landscape landmark along the routes described, but it is not an freely accessible recreational area in every section.

Culture in Křimov and the Wider Surrounding Area

St. Anne's Church stands in Křimov. It was built in the mid-14th century and was originally Gothic. Around 1530, it underwent extensive reconstruction; the west portal, the vault and the windows in the presbytery date from this period. The presbytery also has a defensive floor with slit windows in the east and south walls. South of the church stands a single-story Baroque parsonage from the last third of the 18th century. A reconciliation cross by the roadside near house number 47 is one of the listed historic objects in Křimov.

In the wider region around Křimov, near the eastern edge of Krásná Lípa, lies the small Krásná Lípa Nature Monument protected area. It protects the endangered pasque flower (Pulsatilla patens) and is considered the only site of this species at the foot of the Ore Mountains. The remains of the vanished Hausberk Castle lie on Zámecký vrch, about one kilometer north of Krásná Lípa.

The railway connection also forms part of the region's history. LOKO-MOTIV organizes public special services, including traditional historic railcar excursions that run during the summer holidays from Klášterec nad Ohří via Chomutov and Křimov to Vejprty and back. A railway museum is also being established at the former Křimov station. Historic locomotives and railway carriages form the basis of the planned exhibition.
