Dražovice – Outdoor Swimming Pool, Cycling Routes and Church Ensemble
Dražovice combines a public outdoor swimming pool with a remarkably rich local history, designated cycling routes and the Dražovice Grove for walks. This allows you to shape your stay in many different ways: with water activities and children's facilities, cultural and historical discoveries, or a longer route through Dražovice and the surrounding villages. This combination is particularly useful when looking for accommodation if you are seeking not just a place to stay, but a location with several clearly defined excursion options.
Water activities at Koupaliště Dražovice
Koupaliště Dražovice is a public outdoor swimming pool operated by the municipality of Dražovice. The main swimming pool measures 44 × 19 metres and is 2.75 metres deep. The facility also includes a children's pool with a paddling area and slide, as well as a newly reconstructed pool. This means that the village offers documented, concrete water activities for a variety of daily plans, without requiring you to devote your entire stay to a single activity.
Two car parks are located in the immediate vicinity of Koupaliště Dražovice.
Church, Monument Ensemble and Local History
The cultural centre of Dražovice lies around the Church of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist. It was built in 1888–1889 on the site of an older church. The Church of Saint John the Baptist forms a monument ensemble with the cemetery, boundary wall, gate, wicket gate and a two-flight staircase. A Baroque rectory built in 1792 stands below the church; Dražovice also has a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1900.
The history reaches back considerably further: the oldest written record of the parish dates from 1382, when a local priest named Gracius is documented there. Another connection to the church's construction history is Antonín Cyril Stojan, who was the parish priest in Dražovice from 1888 to 1908 and completed the construction of the church during that period. The anniversary of the church's consecration is observed on 25 August, commemorating its consecration on 25 August 1889. The feast day of the church's patron saint, Saint John the Baptist, is 24 June.
Cycling and Walking around Dražovice
Two routes of different lengths are available for active days. Recommended cycling route 1 passes through Dražovice and Větrník and is 28.4 kilometres long. Recommended cycling route 7 is a 58.6-kilometre circuit connecting Vyškov, Dražovice and several surrounding villages. The two routes therefore differ considerably in length and course.
The Dražovice Grove is suitable for walks and continues into the groves of Letonice and Němčany. The grove complements Dražovice's water, cycling and cultural attractions with a walk in the countryside.
