Kojátky combines distinctive evidence of local history with paths through the surrounding area in a compact setting. Castle and sacred monuments

Kojátky Castle was originally built as a 16th-century fortress. In 1834, it was converted into a one-storey building with a chapel. The village therefore has a building that illustrates the transformation from a fortified structure into a later château building. The listed cultural monuments of Kojátky include the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. Another depiction of this saint can be found in the local part of Kaštanov, where there is a Baroque stone sculpture from the 18th century. Both places are part of the cultural orientation in Kojátky, although they do not have the same historical classification. Crosses also tell stories of the village’s past. The cross called “Stoleťák” stands on the cadastral boundary between Kojátky and Bohaté Málkovice. In the past, residents would go to this cross in Marian processions. Another cross at the Kojátky–Bučovice–Vyškov crossroads bears witness to a tragic event on 23 June 1973. These specific sites give a walk through the local history a range of different historical points of reference. Most cultural events in Kojátky take place outdoors, particularly in the garden of the former brewery. Culture here is associated not only with a single building but also with a former brewery site and open-air events.

A distinctive natural environment

A narrow strip of the Site of Community Importance CZ0624062 – Černecký a Milonický hájek extends into the municipality of Kojátky. This strip lies about 1 km from the existing built-up area. Černecký a Milonický hájek is a regionally significant, species-rich area with numerous specially protected species and Red List species. The area includes semi-natural dry grasslands and scrub facies on calcareous substrates. This precise landscape type distinguishes the natural area from a generally described green space and makes it an independent subject for visitors who would also like to discover protected habitats during their trip.

Hiking and cycling around the village

A blue-marked hiking trail runs through Kojátky. A red-marked hiking trail also runs near the western edge of the village. In addition, a local cycling route passes through Kojátky. The different markings provide clear guidance when choosing between a route through the village, one running near the western edge and a cycling trip. Bus route 644 connects Bučovice and Kojátky.
