Šaratice

Šaratice is a destination for visitors who want to build their stay around distinctive local sights, small discoveries and events documented in terms of their dates. St. Nicholas Church and distinctive local sights

St. Nicholas Church was built in 1903 in the Neo-Romanesque style on the site of a small Gothic church. It was consecrated on 4 August 1903, and its church tower is 45 metres high. These details give the building a clearly recognisable historical and architectural dimension, so you do not have to limit yourself to merely mentioning its name.

The Osmičkové náměstí square is also part of the local cultural landscape. It is described as the only square of its kind in the Czech Republic. The Šaratica water is also connected with the history of the area: it has been extracted at the Kalužiny site since 1896. The Šaratica catchment area lies in the landscape around Újezd u Brna. Protection zones were designated for the natural healing spring, specifically by regulation IL-480.4 of 21 June 1963.

Orientation around Kopeček Hill

Kopeček lies on a gentle slope east of Šaratice between the Šaratice–Hrušky and Šaratice–Milešovice roads. The hill is approximately 5 metres high and is bounded on its north-eastern side by a ditch and an embankment.

Puzzle Route and Traditional Festivities

The Dopravní stezka Šaratice was offered in Šaratice in 2026, with 15 stations focused on traffic signs and road safety. Participants could collect a puzzle map, visit all the stations, decipher a final solution and receive a small gift. The format followed a clear sequence of discovering, combining clues and solving the puzzle.

At the Tradiční Šaratické hody 2026, a procession through the municipality followed the laying down of the stárkovský slib and the handover of the hodové právo in Šaratice. The two formats differ in their sequence: the Dopravní stezka leads through stations and a solution, while at the hody the laying down of the stárkovský slib and the handover of the hodové právo precede the procession through the municipality.

A Shared Table and Dated Culinary Experiences

At Brunch na farní zahradě, participants could bring a sweet or savoury dish for the shared table in Šaratice on 18 July 2026. From 18 to 31 August 2026, Vinotéka Daněk v láhvi offered Burčák made from the Muškát grape variety for CZK 95 per litre. Collection in Šaratice was possible by prior arrangement on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
