In Zlatá, community events, regionally influenced customs, and several cycling tours are part of the local events calendar. A historical reference adds to this lively event profile: Zlatá was first mentioned in writing in 1357.

Festivals with Their Own Local Character

One of the special events is Bramborákiáda, a traditional competition for the best potato pancake. It is not just about a dish, but also about a clearly recognizable local occasion. The prizes are a trophy and a sack of potatoes. Anyone interested in regional food culture will find a specific insight here into the community side of Zlatá.

Obecní uzení also focuses on preparing food together. Participants can bring pickled meat, cheese, sausages, or other foods. The events differ in format: Bramborákiáda focuses on a competition with two specified prizes, while Obecní uzení includes various foods brought by participants as well as purchased smoked products.

The annual Čarodějnice festival takes place in the village square in the central part of Zlatá. The traditional program includes burning an effigy of a witch. Setkání generací offers another form of coming together: Saturday afternoon includes entertainment, competitions, and other activities. The program also includes welcoming new residents and congratulating seniors on milestone birthdays. This occasion therefore focuses both on community entertainment and personal milestones.

Cycling Between a Fixed Starting Point and Country Lanes

There are several different formats for active days in Zlatá. Jarní cyklovýlet is an annual cycling tour. It starts at 10 a.m. at the pavilion on the sports field by the forest in Zlatá. The starting point and time have remained the same for several years. Jarní cyklovýlet therefore offers a fixed location and a fixed time; Podzimní cyklovýlet, on the other hand, is attended by children and adults together.

Podzimní cyklovýlet is intended for children and adults. It complements the spring cycling tour with an event that explicitly includes both age groups. Those traveling with children of different ages can therefore view the two tour formats as separate parts of the events calendar without combining them into a single route.

The project “CESTY, KTERÉ NÁS SPOJUJÍ” offers another point of reference. It focused on restoring the original country lanes connecting Zlatá with Stupice, Sibřina, Sluštice, Křenice, Březí, Babice, Škvorec, Třebohostice, Dobročovice, and Květnice.
