Discover Středokluky

Středokluky combines a historic village center, distinctive buildings and protected nature with trails for cyclists and walkers. The church, mill, pond and playground offer different focal points for a stay: culture can be combined with landscape, exercise or time with children. This means that visiting the village is not limited to a single theme.

Church, Chapels and Historic Buildings

The Church of St. Procopius stands on the village square in the center of Středokluky. Its location makes the village center a cultural focal point. It is surrounded by the wall of a former cemetery with niche chapels. The central Chapel of the Holy Cross is incorporated into the eastern part of the surrounding wall. This combination of church, village square and preserved surrounding wall gives a visit to the village several cultural details that can be viewed directly within the same historic ensemble.

At the southern edge of Středokluky stands the Sousoší sv. Ludmily a sv. Václava on the road from Kněževes to Běloky. Another distinctive testament to the village's history is Kalingrův mlýn. The mill was rebuilt under Jan Kalinger in 1752 into its present Baroque form and is a listed historic mill. This provides different cultural stops for planning your day: a church ensemble in the center, a religious sculptural work at the southern edge of the village and a mill with Baroque features. Their distribution connects the village center with a destination at the southern edge.

Pond and Protected Nature

The Rybník Pod Panskou pond lies between the “Koupaliště – Plovárna” sports complex and the D7 motorway. It is part of the Natura 2000 network; its bypass channel serves as a biotope for the noble crayfish. Thus, in addition to its clearly described location, the pond adds an aspect of natural interest to a visit to the village. Its protected status and biotope draw attention to the ecological side of the area. Its proximity to the sports complex creates a separate spatial connection, without equating the pond with the facilities located there.

Cycling, Hiking and a Place for Children

Cycling route 0079 runs through Středokluky. In addition, a green-marked hiking trail between Tuchoměřice, Černovičky and Běloky passes through the village. This allows you to distinguish between a designated cycling route and a marked connection for a hike, without relying on unsupported information about length, duration or difficulty. Both routes offer different ways to incorporate the surrounding area into your day plan: Route 0079 is intended for cycling, while the green marking identifies a hiking connection.

A new children's playground is located at the edge of the “Koupaliště” sports complex and near the Na Plovárně restaurant. This specific location adds an option for families traveling with children to the cultural and landscape-related themes that can be included in the day's plans. Thus, the church, mill, pond and trails are joined by a dedicated stopping point for younger travelers.
