Úholičky between the Vltava, pilgrimage trails and exceptional views

Úholičky combines several very different experiences within a compact area: trails along the left bank of the Vltava, a traditional pilgrimage route, traces of cultural history, a golf course and specific discoveries to make along the way. If you are looking for a place where activity and history can be combined, Úholičky offers an unusually varied basis for this.

Nature trail, village square and paths through the landscape

The circular trail and nature trail “Rozhlédni se, člověče” begins in the village square in Úholičky and runs along the left bank of the Vltava. The first section of the tourist nature trail also starts there; visitors can pick up maps with questions about the individual stations in the village square. The section through Úholičky passes through a cherry orchard, a birch grove and along a farm track to the Stříbrník crossroads.

The nature trail also leads to the Švestkovna rope playground. Another distinctive stop is the Na Krakově open-air theatre: large swings and a slide have been built on the site of the former open-air theatre.

Views and archaeological traces at Řivnáč

Řivnáč hill adds a clear landscape and historical dimension to the trails. From its summit, there are views of the Vltava towards Prague and Kralupy, as well as of the “Vlčí jáma” gorge. At the same time, Řivnáč is associated with archaeological finds from the Stone Age and the Bronze Age. Views and early settlement history thus come together at the same destination.

For longer excursions through the surrounding area, there is the “Od Okoře k Vltavě” route. It is approximately 45 km long, suitable for pedestrians and cyclists, and passes through Úholičky. The Přívoz Úholičky–Husinec–Řež ferry connects Úholičky and Husinec–Řež and links the cycle paths of both municipalities. Those who want to combine different sections therefore have an explicitly documented connection between the routes of the two places.

Pilgrimage route and protected cultural heritage

The Stezka sv. Ludmily passes through Úholičky. It is part of a 132 km-long pilgrimage route with 11 stages connecting important places associated with the beginnings of Czech statehood. The fourth stage runs from Budeč via Svrkyně, Noutonice, Velké Přílepy and Úholičky to Levý Hradec in Roztoky.

Úholičky Chateau is also part of the village’s cultural character. The complex is a protected cultural monument and has been listed as a heritage site since 1958. The chateau includes a three-hectare English-style landscape park, where rare trees planted at the time have survived to this day. The park complements the historical connections with a clearly defined landscaped setting.

Golf overlooking the Vltava Valley

Golf SNAIL is a publicly accessible nine-hole golf course in Úholičky. The course can be reached by the S4 train from Masarykovo nádraží to Úholičky station; from there, a forest path leads uphill to the golf club. One of the tees offers an impressive view into the Vltava Valley.

The golf club includes the Golf Snail Gallery. Exhibition openings take place as part of every SPG Tour tournament. The Snail ZOO is also located in the area above the chipping green; it currently houses bees and several goats.
