Cernolice: Rocks, Nature Trail and Landscape

Černolice brings together distinctive rocks, a diverse landscape and local history within a compact thematic area. The Čertovy skály rocks near Černolice form a traditional climbing area with easier and moderately difficult routes. There is also a nature trail on the history of the village, the Stivínka landscape and paths that reveal historical connections and present-day recreational opportunities. Rocks and distinctive landscapes

The Čertovy skály rocks are the most prominent reference point for an active stay. A different landscape can be found in Potoky: the lowest-lying locality, Potoky, lies in a deeply incised canyon of the Všenorský potok stream at an altitude of 300–350 m above sea level. Junipers, cypresses and unusual pine trees grow there.

The Stivínka area in Černolice covers two streams, forest, rolling terrain, steep slopes, as well as trees, shrubs and flowers across 13 ha. Those who value changing landscapes when choosing a holiday destination will find a clear contrast here between rocky terrain, a deeply incised canyon and wooded, partly steep terrain.

Nature trail and the history of Černolice

The “Putování Černolickem” nature trail was designed and created for Černolice in 2001–2002. Its “Černolice – náves” station covers the history of Černolice. The “Černolice – Potoky” station focuses on the origin and development of the Potoky settlement and the character of Stivínka. This allows a stay to be explored not only through landscape and activity, but also through the development of individual parts of the village.

An important historical trade and military road ran through the Černolice area along the Všenorský potok stream toward Řitka. The historic route was also known as the “Zlatá stezka” and was used to transport salt to Bohemia. These historical connections provide additional themes for exploring the area on foot.

Activities for different interests

Kamenitý Vrch offers individual and family horseback rides. In Černolice, it also provides hippotherapy as well as other therapeutic and recreational activities for children with health impairments and their families. In addition, Kamenitý Vrch offers experiential workshops and other activities for children and adults. The documented range of offerings therefore extends from horseback rides to communal and therapeutic activities.

Hiking and cycling around the village

Cycle route 8129 runs through Černolice. The Černolické skály nature monument can, for example, be reached from Všenory via a yellow-marked hiking trail.
