Roblín – Village History, Švarcava Valley and Hiking Trails

Roblín combines an evocative village history with a landscape where wooded hills, agricultural land and the Švarcava Valley meet. A prominent landmark in the village is the chapel with its bell tower on the village square. It is a registered cultural monument dating from 1806. Roblín therefore offers not only nature but also a tangible historical connection that you can discover directly in the village landscape.

Roblín and its history

The first historical mention of Roblín dates back to 1365. The village districts add two different medieval connections to this early history: in the 14th century, Dolní Roblín was a fief of Karlštejn Castle, while Horní Roblín belonged to Třebotov during the same century. The historical context thus extends from the first mention to the cultural monument dating from 1806. In Roblín, therefore, it is not only the village square and chapel that represent the village’s history; the connections of Dolní Roblín and Horní Roblín are also part of the character of the place.

Landscape along the Švarcava

An important landscape area is the Kulivá hora–Švarcava locality. It is a nature reserve within the Český kras Protected Landscape Area and is designated as a geotourism excursion site.

The geological locality extends along the Švarcava Valley from Solopysky to Roblín in the direction of Tův mlýn. The valley area forms a spatial link between these places. Near Roblín, fragments of alluvial forest accompany the Švarcava stream; at the same time, wooded hills and fertile agricultural land shape the area around the village. The landscape thus alternates between the stream, wooded areas and open agricultural land. This allows you to tailor an excursion according to your interests, focusing more on the landscape, the village’s history or hiking.

Hiking trails and access

The Kulivá hora–Švarcava locality can be reached from the road via a walkable hiking trail; the access route continues for more than 250 metres. This access route forms a separate section leading to the locality and should not be equated with the length of a longer-distance hiking route.

A blue-marked hiking trail also runs through Roblín from Třebotov and Vonoklasy towards Mořina and Dub sedmi bratří. The access route to the locality and this marked trail follow different paths: the access route leads from the road for more than 250 metres to the locality, while the marked trail runs through Roblín towards Mořina and Dub sedmi bratří. When planning a hike, the access route should therefore not be understood as an indication of the walking time or difficulty of the marked trail. The natural area along the Švarcava and the trail running through Roblín thus remain two separate hiking options.
