Nenačovice: Nature, Trails and Czech Glassmaking

Nenačovice combines landscape experiences with rural heritage and the Czech glassmaking tradition. The Povodí Kačáku Nature Park extends into the Nenačovice area. In addition, there are paths along the Loděnice stream, a preserved water mill, a tramping settlement and a specific range of organic food. If you would like to combine nature and culture during your stay, the village therefore offers several clearly distinct points of interest for planning your trip.

Nature Park and Trails along the Loděnice Stream

The Povodí Kačáku Nature Park protects the character of the landscape as well as significant concentrated natural and aesthetic values. The corridor of the Loděnice stream forms the landscape axis of the nature park. The stream is also a prominent reference point for trails in and around Nenačovice: the “Trails through Barrandien” route follows the Loděnice to Nenačovice. There, the red- and yellow-marked hiking trails cross.

Another way to explore the surrounding area along a designated route is NENAČOVICE Questing. The route has a moderate difficulty level and runs along forest and field paths as well as partly along a road. It also leads to a bridge over the Loděnice stream, which is also called Kačák. For your choice, this means you can choose between a route with different types of trail sections and one that places the stream course and marked hiking trails at the center. The moderate difficulty level and the different surfaces provide two points of reference for planning your day. This allows you to choose the route according to the type of trail you prefer while taking into account that it does not run exclusively along a single type of path.

Rural Heritage and Colored Glass

NENAČOVICE Questing passes the preserved rural water mill Kalousův mlýn. The tramping settlement of Chrbiny is also located along the route. The trail thus connects two different features of the rural surroundings: a water mill and a tramping settlement. Both add specific destinations to the landscape. This means you can consider the route not only in terms of its forest and field paths, but also in terms of the stops along the way.

Glasstar represents a special tradition in Nenačovice. Julius Starove founded Glasstar in 1996, and the Czech glassmaking tradition continues there to this day through handcrafted colored glass made in the glassworks. The Glasstar glassworks produces around 200 types of handcrafted colored glass products, including glass flowers, vases, bowls, fruit and animals. The approximate scale and variety of product forms make glassmaking an independent cultural theme of the village.
