Discover Náčkovice: Uhelná stezka and Víťova vyhlídka

A trip to Náčkovice can be defined by two distinct experiences: an informative hike through the landscape and a striking observation structure near the village. This natural experience is complemented by historical and ethnographic destinations that reveal different aspects of the region.

Hiking between a stream, mining and viewpoints

Uhelná stezka is almost 4.5 kilometres long and equipped with eight information stations. As a result, it is not only the route itself that takes centre stage. The trail provides information about the local Luční potok stream, introduces protected local plants and animals of the local fauna, and explains the history of coal mining in the surrounding area. Those who would like to combine a hike with specific themes will therefore find a route here whose stations bring together the landscape, nature and regional history.

Uhelná stezka ends at Víťova vyhlídka near Náčkovice. The observation tower is 21 metres high, while the viewing platform is located at a height of 8.5 metres. An observation walkway with eight windows extends the view beyond the immediate platform. From there, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of České středohoří, Lužické hory, Krušné hory and Mount Sedlo. The observation structure is also notable for being combined with a transmitter for mobile networks: Víťova vyhlídka is therefore not only a viewpoint but also a structure with a technical function.

For the return journey to Lovečkovice, Uhelná stezka can be shortened by taking the bus at the Mukařov stop. This option distinguishes the route from a hike where both the outward and return journeys would necessarily have to be completed entirely on foot. This leaves a specific return option for planning your day without changing the thematic course of Uhelná stezka.

Culture between railways, folk architecture and a monument

The Minimuzeum Lovečkovice is located in a former railway building on the Velké Březno–Úštěk line. The building was saved from demolition and reconstructed. For a planned visit, the following information about opening and operation is also important: the municipality of Lovečkovice has not operated the Minimuzeum Lovečkovice since 1 July 2021. The site is therefore one of the cultural destinations where the building’s historical function and the question of current municipal operation should be considered separately.

The Zubrnický skanzen offers a different approach to regional history. It is an open-air museum of folk architecture in an inhabited village. Its character therefore differs significantly from the former railway building of the Minimuzeum: here, the focus is not on a single reconstructed structure, but on folk architecture in a village environment that continues to be inhabited.

The Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help is located in Náčkovice itself. It has been protected as a cultural monument since 1958 and was repaired in 2008. The chapel complements the hiking and viewpoint themes with a specific example of the local building and commemorative culture.
