Miřejovice combines landscape protection, distinctive natural formations and a multifaceted local history. The municipality’s cadastral area lies within the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area. At the same time, a wooded volcanic basalt cone, historic brick houses, a restored wayside cross, an educational trail and a cycle route come together here. Landscape between the protected area and the volcanic cone

Plešivec, also known as Ledový vrch (Iceberg), is a wooded volcanic basalt cone. At Plešivec, woodland, volcanic formations and basalt come together to create a distinctive landscape. The municipality’s cadastral area lies within the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area, while Plešivec forms a prominent landscape feature.

History reflected in the villagescape

The only surviving listed monument in Miřejovice is a wayside cross by the road, restored in 2008. Late Classicist brick houses from the second half of the 19th century have also been preserved. Until the 19th century, the history of Miřejovice was connected with Kamýk Castle. A historic road guarded by Kamýk Castle led from Litoměřice through Miřejovice over the saddle between Plešivec and Bídnice to Libochovany and onward to the national border. The educational trail “Naučná stezka skřítka Portáše – Porta Bohemica – Krajem pověstí a zážitků” connects all the municipalities of the microregion, including Miřejovice. Cycle Route 3058 leads from the Litoměřice-Knobloška junction eastwards to Miřejovice and continues around the summit of Kamýk northwards to the Babinské louky Natural Monument. In Velké Žernoseky, Cycle Route 3058 branches off from the Elbe Cycle Route 2; at the Babinské louky Natural Monument site, it connects with Cycle Route 3057. For a longer tour, the route from Litoměřice-Knobloška via Miřejovice northwards can be planned as one continuous stretch; the connections to Elbe Cycle Route 2 and Cycle Route 3057 extend beyond this section.

Leisure and regional traces

Regular events in Miřejovice include the Vyhnívák cycling competition. For outdoor leisure, Miřejovice has a tennis court that can be used; a children’s playground is also available. Historical agriculture in Miřejovice included fruit growing and viticulture. Pears, apples, plums and walnuts were cultivated.
