Vnorovy

Vnorovy combines a distinctive waterscape with cycling, fishing and the traditional customs of the Slovácko region. Waterways and cycling along the Baťa Canal

Vnorovy lies on the left bank of the Morava, which touches the northern edge of the municipality. In the south, the Velička flows through the cadastral area. The western part is particularly diverse: there is a dense network of waterways consisting of the Morava, the meanders of the old Morava, the Baťa Shipping Canal and irrigation canals. This makes it possible to view the area from various water-related perspectives, without the river, oxbow lakes and canal being the same landscape feature.

The Baťa Shipping Canal is opened for the navigation season every year from May to October. Cyclists will also find a clearly described connection: the cycle path along the Baťa Canal is more than 80 kilometres long and passes through Vnorovy on the route between Veselí nad Moravou and Strážnice. Other landmarks include the Trinity group from 1745, the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk from 1747 and the Chapel of the Virgin Mary, built in 1898. The statue of Saint Florian in Lidéřovice dates from 1749.

The town’s distinctive character also includes vibrant craft traditions. In Vnorovy, Easter eggs are painted, Easter whips known as Korbáče are woven, and figures are made from corn husks. The original customs of the Slovácko region are also maintained, including Easter, Christmas and church-fair traditions. The Vnorovská desítka run will take place for the 38th time in 2026 and is described by the municipality as a traditional event.
