Hrabětice combines sacred culture, a protected floodplain landscape and lively village festivals with a location on the important road between Brno and Vienna. A notable cultural landmark is the Church of Saint Anthony of Padua, dating from 1863. The path to the church is lined with six statues of Franciscan saints from the late 18th century. This makes the approach itself part of the historic ensemble rather than merely a route to a single building.

The history of Hrabětice reaches back much further. The first written mention appears in a serf or urbarial tax record of Count von Hardegg from 1417. Another distinctive feature is the Stations of the Cross on a hill on the edge of town. It consists of 14 concrete pillars with images of the Stations of the Cross and a chapel. From the elevated Stations of the Cross, there is a broad view of the surrounding landscape, including neighboring Austria and Galgenberg Hill.

The sacred history also includes Hrabětická Calvary. It is a recently renovated former pilgrimage site set within its natural surroundings. Trávní Dvůr preserves an intact, multi-part remnant of the Dyje floodplain between Hevlín and Jevišovka.

Characteristic features of this floodplain landscape include oxbow lakes, small bodies of water, floodplain meadows and their associated vegetation. Trávní Dvůr thus creates a clear landscape contrast with the sacred and historic sites of Hrabětice.

Festivals, Cycle Paths and Regional Connections

The annual customs are reflected, among other things, in the Krojované hody, held every year in June around the feast day of Saint Anthony. The tradition includes the handing over of the festival rights, a procession of people in traditional dress through the village and a traditional evening celebration. Babské hody is organized by local women and usually takes place on the first Saturday in September. Anyone visiting Hrabětice on one of these dates experiences the town not only through its buildings and landscape, but also through its village traditions.

Regional cycle paths and international cycling routes run through the landscape around Hrabětice.
