STODSKO Trail Between the Town Centre and the Cycling Route

A prominent stay is also documented: Russian General A. V. Suvorov spent the night at Stará pošta in 1799.

The sacred buildings of Stod provide further architectural highlights. The Church of St. Mary Magdalene is a three-nave building with an interior ranging from Baroque to Classicism. The Špitální Chapel is distinctly different: it is a central, hexagonal building with a pyramidal roof and a roof turret dating from the early 18th century. In 1720, the chapel received an altar dedicated to St. John of Nepomuk. Those interested in architectural forms and interiors will therefore find two historic sites with different designs here.

Vehicle History at the Vehicle Museum Stod

The Vehicle Museum Stod adds a technical theme to the cultural tour. Its exhibitions are housed in the buildings of a 16th-century brewery. The year 1544 can be seen on the distinctive chimneys. In this historic setting, the museum displays, among other things, Volkswagen Beetles and Porsche vehicles. A visit to the museum thus combines the history of an older brewery building with vehicles from a later era.
