History from Its Beginnings to Mining

Losiná probably has an older, early feudal origin. The transfer of Losiná took place in 1327 under Jaroslav ze Štěnovic. A later, pivotal date is October 11, 1620: during the Thirty Years' War, the village was attacked by Hungarian cavalry serving the Bohemian estates.

The Antonínská silver shaft in the vicinity of Losiná also recalls the region's mining history. It operated for approximately fifty years from the end of the 17th century. This approximate time frame is part of the site's historical context and should not be understood as an precisely defined operating period.

Festivals and Events

The Havelské posvícení in Losiná is celebrated on the first Sunday after the feast day of Saint Gall. From Saturday to Monday, the area in front of the cultural center features fairground rides, swings and shooting galleries. On the following Monday, the traditional Pěkná hodinka takes place at the Losiná cultural center. This sequence combines the festive custom with a framework of events lasting several days.

The Losinský triatlon also offers different participation categories: individual competitors, relay teams and children. In the vicinity of Losiná, the Vojtěšská pilgrimage also takes place on the first Sunday in May at the Church of St. Adalbert in Planiny, in the Nebílovský Borek district.
