Vstiš – Village History, Ponds and Cycle Route

Vstiš combines waterways, village history and cycling. The Dnešický stream flows from south to north through almost the entire cadastral area of Vstiš and the historic part of the municipality before flowing into the Radbuza. There are also two ponds with different histories: Kastlův rybník was created in 1670, while the Nový vstišský pond dates from 1966. Exactly 296 years lie between the years in which Kastlův rybník and Nový vstišský were created. Kastlův rybník: Beach and Fishing

Kastlův rybník has a beach and opportunities for fishing. The beach provides a specific place to stay by the water, while fishing offers another way to use the pond. Staré Vstiše and the Vachtlův Mill

The historic village square of Staré Vstiše is particularly characteristic. It is lined with more than three dozen former agricultural farmsteads. The houses around the square are oriented with their gable ends facing the village square and form an architecturally remarkable ensemble. The former agricultural use thus remains present in the appearance of the village. On the southern side stands a chapel built in the Neo-Gothic style. It was built in 1906 and is an important part of this public space. The chapel stands on the southern side of the square, while the former farmsteads surround it. Its Neo-Gothic design creates a distinctive architectural accent.

Another point of cultural and historical interest is the enclosed building complex of the old Vachtlův Mill. The mill is already mentioned in a document issued by the abbot of the Vyšehrad Collegiate Chapter in 1293. The surviving complex was last extensively rebuilt in 1850. The documented mention thus dates back long before the last reconstruction.

The “Prague – Pilsen – Regensburg” cycle route runs through Vstiš. The C1 cycle path runs westwards from Staré Vstiše along a paved road designated for this purpose, passing the Vachtlův Mill and heading towards Chotěšov. The route serves both international long-distance cycling and everyday mixed recreational traffic by pedestrians and cyclists. Further Impressions in the Village

The sports complex in Bajerka includes a football pitch and outdoor volleyball courts. The two sports areas thus provide facilities for different activities at the same complex. Bubules is also a traditional fairy-tale event in Vstiš held at the end of the summer holidays. Vstiš is served by bus services.
