The Church of Saint John the Baptist is Charváty’s most important landmark. It was built in 1582 under Olomouc Bishop Stanislav II Pavlovský. This places a specific architectural monument at the centre of the town, providing a clear historical point of reference.

At the exit towards Tážaly stands the listed statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, dating from 1773. Jan Sarkander is also part of the town’s history: he served in the parish of Charváty in 1610 and 1611. In Čertoryje stands a statue of Saint Mark from the 1720s, which was moved there from Hradisko Monastery in 1825. The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk is also located there.

Another sacred destination lies in Drahlov. There stands the Memorial Chapel of the Virgin Mary, dating from the second half of the 19th century. The various buildings and statues extend the cultural perspective across several places and periods rather than limiting it to a single monument.

Morava Landscape and Protected Habitats
