Bílsko between Haná and the rolling hills

Bílsko lies on the border between the fertile Haná region and the rolling foothills of the Nízký Jeseník. At the same time, the village is situated among forests, meadows and pastures. This gives you two clearly distinguishable landscape settings when planning your trip: the open, fertile Haná on one side and the varied foothills of the Nízký Jeseník on the other. Bílsko is also located in the Ludmírovská pahorkatina, which forms part of the Zábřežská vrchovina.

The Cholinka watercourse is also useful for orienting yourself locally: it forms part of Bílsko’s northern cadastral boundary. Anyone wishing to explore the surroundings by bicycle will find a specific reference point in Cycle Route 6025. The route runs through the cadastral area and the built-up part of Bílsko. East of the village square, it branches off the road onto a field track and continues through the Skalky locality.

Cycling with distinctive landmarks

For cyclists, there is a covered rest area with an information board on public land at the intersection of Roads III/37315 and III/37313. Another option is to cycle from Luká along forest tracks through the forests on the summit of Kamenice to Bílsko. The covered rest area provides a sheltered place to take a break along the way. East of the village square, Route 6025 branches off the road onto a field track and continues through the Skalky locality. This gives you both a section through Bílsko and a connection through a forest landscape for planning your day.

If you are travelling with a range of interests, you can tailor the focus of your stay accordingly. Cycle Route 6025 runs through the built-up part of Bílsko and continues along field tracks, while the connection from Luká includes the forests on the summit of Kamenice.

Village history and visible culture

The first written mention of Bílsko dates back to 1349. The village is home to the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, completed in 1903. On the village square stands a stone Empire-style cross with a balustrade dating from 1827. Another stone cross stands west of Bílsko towards the forest and dates from 1867.

The visible history of the village also includes a statue of Saint Francis of Assisi outside Bílsko on the road to Senička. It dates from the first half of the 19th century. Hanakian architecture can be seen in Bílsko and complements the historical points of interest with a distinctive regional architectural feature. This allows you to combine the village’s architectural style, church, village square and the religious monuments described above on a walk through the village, without limiting your stay to a single attraction.
