Lazce – Family Experiences, Cycling Route and History

Lazce combines special family experiences with a long and eventful local history and a cycling route through Litovelské Pomoraví. This gives the town different points of interest for a trip: children can take part in adventure programmes, while historical traces from the Middle Ages to the 20th century can also be discovered.

Adventures at Lanové centrum PROUD

Lanové centrum PROUD Olomouc – Lazce offers children's adventure programmes with themed games, animation activities and climbing on rope obstacles. The focus is not only on simple games: as part of the adventure programmes, children can also try high rope obstacles and a large adrenaline swing. This means that a visit can be tailored to the desired level of activity, without all children having to use the same attractions.

For younger visitors, Lanové centrum PROUD Olomouc – Lazce has a separate play zone for children aged three and over. Cycling through Litovelské Pomoraví

Another way to experience Lazce actively is the approximately 31.8-kilometre leisure route through Litovelské Pomoraví. It leads from Horní náměstí via Lazce; on the return journey, it also runs via Lazce. The route therefore connects a starting point at Horní náměstí with a course through the landscape of Litovelské Pomoraví. ASO Park: History and chronological context

The grounds of ASO Park in Lazce were formerly a municipal shooting range. For a long time, they were used as a place for outings and various folk festivals. This former function is part of the history of the grounds and differs from their later use as a venue for outings and festivals.

An important point in the chronology concerns the renovation of ASO Park: On 10 February 2026, the City of Olomouc announced that the work had begun and asked people not to enter the area affected by the work. Historical traces in Lazce

The first surviving written mention of Lazce dates from 1298. Also in 1298, King Wenceslaus II donated Lazce Island to the Poor Clares convent at Předhradí. The history of the town therefore reaches back to the Middle Ages and is also connected with the development of Olomouc.

The original settlement of Lazce was demolished in 1746 to make way for the construction of Olomouc's fortifications. The medieval settlement also had a mill on the Mlýnský potok stream. A later chapter in the town's history leads to Letná: the first football pitch in Olomouc was built in this area of Lazce in 1914. Those who visit Lazce therefore find not only a current leisure offering, but also historical points of reference spanning several centuries.
