Trnávka combines a Baroque castle, historic religious buildings, regional events and protected nature.

Castle and Historic Buildings

Trnávka Baroque Castle is an 18th-century castle. Its present late Baroque appearance dates from around 1780. A partially preserved 19th-century landscape park adjoins the castle. This sequence makes several historical layers visible in the same location: the 18th-century castle was followed by its late Baroque development around 1780, while the park completed the ensemble in the 19th century. Restored rooms in the Baroque castle are used for social events.

St. Catherine’s Church is also one of the defining historic buildings. It has been mentioned in Trnávka since 1452 and contains a pulpit and a baptismal font from the late 17th century. The Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk stands at the Trnávka–Brušperk road junction. A sandstone stone cross of atonement is located in Trnávka on the road in front of house no. 31. Together, these buildings represent different forms of local history: the church, chapel and cross of atonement stand beside the castle as independent destinations.

Events with a Local Character

The Divadelní spolek Trnávka theatre association stages its performances at the Sokol House in Trnávka, house number 145. There are 250 audience seats available. Another established tradition is the children’s event Pohádkový les. It has been held since 2008 at the end of summer in the surroundings of Trnávka Castle. For trip planning, these offerings differ clearly: the theatre is tied to a specific venue, while Pohádkový les is anchored in time at the end of summer and geographically in the castle surroundings.

The revived Pochod z Trnávky do Trnávky walking event has once again been organised by the municipality since 2018. Alongside the castle, church and permanent monuments, a community activity is therefore also part of Trnávka’s cultural profile. The village combines historical exploration, events and a municipality-supported tradition, without these themes being limited to a single excursion destination.

Landscape Around Trnávka

The Rybníky v Trnávce Nature Reserve was first designated on 15 February 2002. The nearby surroundings include the Za Humny hill (Petřvald u Nového Jičína) and the Sovinec hill (Fryčovice). In the wider regional surroundings are the Skalka and Kamenárka mountains. The landscape connection thus extends from the designated protected area through nearby hills to more broadly defined regional mountain destinations. Trnávka can therefore be explored through culture and events as well as nature and landscape.
