Memorial sites in Habartov

The Museum of the Security Forces is located in the Kluč district of Habartov. It was established as a dignified memorial to the heroes of the so-called Habartov Incident. It focuses on an event on September 13, 1938, when Czechoslovak gendarmes and Sudeten Germans confronted each other in Habartov. The museum deals with the tragic events of 1938 and gives this historical subject a tangible place.

The memorial to the gendarmes shot in Habartov additionally commemorates the gendarmes who fell there on September 13, 1938. The memorial site includes a bronze relief in the form of a waving flag with a prominent double-tailed Bohemian lion, as well as a bronze plaque bearing the names of the gendarmes. The design combines a widely understandable symbol with a commemoration by name and makes the connection to history visible.
