Černošice combines the Berounka with protected landscapes and remarkable architecture. The Berounka, bathing area and sports

The municipal Městská pláž Černošice bathing area is located on the Berounka below the Mokropsy weir and is used for swimming, sunbathing and sports. The bathing area has a beach volleyball court and a pétanque area. This makes it suitable for both quieter hours and sporting activities when planning your day.

The Berounka Sports Park is a freely accessible grassy area by the river next to the cycle route. It is used for relaxation and events. In Černošice-Mokropsy, the skate park and bikros track are suitable for freestyle BMX, freestyle MTB, skateboarding and inline skating. Černošice railway station is on line 171 between Prague and Beroun and provides a clear geographical reference point for further planning.

Protected landscape in the Berounka Valley

The Staňkovka nature reserve near Černošice covers the steep, wooded left slope of the Berounka Valley on the edge of the Třebotovská plošina. The area lies between Radotín, Mount Sulava, at an elevation of 341.6 m, and Černošice. Together with its location on the edge of Český kras, this creates a landscape theme that complements your stay with wooded slopes and the valley.

Villas and architectural history

The Fröhlichova summer villa at Střední 360 was designed by Jan Kotěra in 1902–1903. As one of Kotěra’s early works, it combines influences from contemporary English villa architecture with traditional Czech folk art. The Kratochvílova Villa at Karlštejnská 282 is one of Černošice’s most significant buildings and was constructed in 1908–1909 according to a design by the architect Jan Kotěra. A two-storey early Art Nouveau villa at Střední 403 was designed by the architect Osvald Polívka.

The medieval Church of the Assumption of Our Lady also tells the story of changes over the centuries. It has been extensively altered; a radical transformation took place at the beginning of the 18th century. The building has a single nave and is oriented, with a rectangular-ended, set-back chancel and a prismatic tower with a polygonal termination on the central axis of the façade.

Traditions and seasonal activities

The traditional Mariánská pouť pilgrimage festival in Černošice begins on the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, on Saturday, 15 August. On 15 and 16 August, a music and theatre programme, a fair and amusement rides are held in front of the church and in Berounka Sports Park. In addition, from 27 September 2023, times for public ice skating were reserved on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons at the Zimní stadion Černošice.
