Račiněves: Cultural Monument, Kavčina and Horse Experiences

Račiněves combines a protected medieval ecclesiastical building, an archaeological site and the horse-focused Pecharův ranč. As a result, the village brings together cultural history, tangible connections to the surrounding landscape and various opportunities for shared exploration. Cultural monuments in the centre and east of Račiněves

The Church of Saint Gall is a valuable medieval ecclesiastical building dating from the late 15th century. It is registered as a cultural monument under ÚSKP number 28108/5-2242 and has been protected as a monument since 3 May 1958. The Church of Saint Gall complex forms a distinctive urban feature in the centre of Račiněves. It is therefore one of the village’s clearly recognisable cultural landmarks.

About 1 km east of Račiněves, the Kavčina archaeological site lies on a gentle rise near sand pits and adjacent fields. The site comprises a ritual area, a settlement and a burial ground. Its approximate distance and the location described make Kavčina a destination in its own right for anyone wishing to explore the historic character of the surroundings not only in the village centre but also beyond the built-up area.

Horses, animals and events at Pecharův ranč

Pecharův ranč focuses on animals and equestrian culture. It includes horse paddocks with shelters, where 16 horses are currently grazing or being housed. There are also Dutch goats, four Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Göttingen pigs, rabbits and other animals. The ranč is part of the “horse trails”; it also includes a rescue station and facilities for riders and their horses.

The complex includes a covered log-cabin restaurant with a fireplace. There are also facilities for horse events, children’s programmes, school trips and children’s birthday parties. Horses can be accommodated in paddocks or stalls, while riders can spend the night in a cabin directly in the horse paddock. When choosing accommodation, Račiněves can therefore be considered according to your desired travel theme: the church and Kavčina represent culture and history, while Pecharův ranč is associated with animals, horses and related events.

Village life and access

The centre of Račiněves is called Ohrada and includes a small park with benches and several play features for children. Račiněves also has a village restaurant offering refreshments. Several bus routes run through the village: Roudnice n. L.–Libochovice, Louny–Roudnice n. L.–Mělník–Mladá Boleslav and Roudnice–Velvary.

The location of the D8 motorway is also relevant for getting there: the motorway exit is about 2 km from Račiněves. Local events include a traditional hunters’ ball and a shooting competition organised by Myslivecká společnost Račiněves.
