History and Historic Townscape

Přestavlky is first mentioned in writing in 1227, in a register of the property of a Benedictine convent. The surrounding area also points to settlement as early as pre-Christian times, with numerous urn fields. During the Thirty Years' War, Přestavlky was completely looted, burned down and devastated to such an extent that the village lay in ruins for several years. The written reference from 1227 and the urn fields in the surrounding area represent different time horizons: the register dates to the Middle Ages, whereas settlement in the area goes back to pre-Christian times.

Today, the historic village center consists of a group of farmsteads. A chapel and farmsteads stand on the large village square; their distinctive gates bear a sun motif. Přestavlky also has a late Gothic stone wayside shrine. On the outskirts, a niche chapel stands on the road to Nížebohy. The area “Přestavlky – intravilán vsi a okolí” is designated as an archaeological site in category ÚAN I.

Watercourse and Distinctive Vegetation

The Tvrdodolská svodnice is a regulated watercourse that flows through the village center. Bankside and accompanying vegetation line the watercourse and thereby shape another part of the townscape. For orientation in the area, the Svodnice forms a clear landscape reference between the built-up areas.

The available sporting activities therefore clearly differ from those of a traditional hiking destination. This restriction is important for day planning: the sporting opportunities instead involve cycling, riding and racing events.
