Lovečkovice between Railway Tradition and Nature

The museum was established in a former railway station building that was saved from demolition and renovated by the municipality of Lovečkovice together with the Zubrnická muzeální železnice. The Uhelná stezka begins at the Minimuzeum Lovečkovice, is almost 4.5 kilometres long, and is marked with yellow tourist trail signs. Eight stations provide information about local history and coal mining. The route thus combines physical activity with specific topics. A Railway Monument in the České středohoří

The local railway line Velké Březno–Lovečkovice–Verneřice/Úštěk was ceremonially put into operation on 18 August 1890. The Velké Březno–Zubrnice–Lovečkovice section was registered as an immovable cultural monument in 1998. Together with the Minimuzeum and the rail trolley, the history of the line is connected with specific locations and a unique experience. This makes it possible to view Lovečkovice’s railway tradition through its historical beginnings, the protected section, and its present-day museum presentation.

Protected Landscape and Panoramic Views

The extensive CHKO České středohoří protected landscape area lies within the municipality of Lovečkovice. Several signposted hiking trails lead from Lovečkovice to Sedlo; its summit area is protected as a national nature reserve and features rare flora. Above the municipality of Náčkovice stands Víťova vyhlídka, built in 2003, 21 metres high, and situated at an elevation of 616 metres. Its viewing platform is 8.5 metres above the ground. From there, the view stretches towards Teplice, Ústí nad Labem, Roudnice, Štětí, Mělník, and Doksy, as well as as far as Ještěd. Traditional Architecture in Lovečkovice

Chalupa No. 17 in Lovečkovice is a vernacular log structure bearing the year 1818 and is listed as an immovable cultural monument. The complex of house No. 74 in Lovečkovice, including the house, stables, and grounds, is protected as a cultural monument. House No. e. 46 is a valuable and authentically preserved example of a two-storey log house from the first half of the 19th century. The passage barn, built of smoothly plastered brickwork with pillars, is also a valuable example of vernacular architecture. Together, these houses, stables, and the barn represent various forms of local architecture and complement the railway and landscape themes with historical details of the village streetscape.
