Dubí in the Czech Republic: Churches, Nature Trails and Nature

Dubí appeals to travelers who want to combine culture, nature and different types of excursions. For families with children, the walk along the Paraplíčko nature trail is a particularly clearly described excursion.

Church Architecture and Building History

The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, Kostel Neposkvrněného početí Panny Marie, was built between 1898 and 1906 as a three-nave basilica in the Venetian Gothic style, modeled on Madonna dell’Orto in Venice. Guided tours with commentary cover its architecture and building history and also include a visit to the Clary-Aldringen family crypt. This visit therefore combines a striking building with an insight into its historical origins.

Paraplíčko Nature Trail and Tereziny lázně

The Paraplíčko nature trail is located near Tereziny lázně. The walk along the trail is particularly suitable for families with children and takes a little more than an hour. Tereziny lázně offer therapeutic treatments that focus mainly on treating disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. The forest park near Tereziny lázně also has a tennis court, a miniature golf course, a Russian skittles facility and an outdoor swimming pool.

Moorland and Nature on the Cínovec Nature Trail

The Cínovec nature trail is 14 kilometers long. Along the way, information boards explain the renaturalization of moors as well as geological features and the local fauna and flora of this part of the Ore Mountains. In the lower part of Cínovec, visitors can swim in Dlouhý rybník near the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, Nanebevzetí Panny Marie. The 14 kilometers require a different time frame for planning than the walk along Paraplíčko, which takes a little more than an hour. The route therefore offers a longer hiking option, while its information boards address specific topics ranging from moorland renaturalization and geology to the local flora and fauna.

Hunting Château, Game Reserve and the History of Porcelain

Dvojhradí Hunting Château was built in 1703 in the Chinese style for Tupperle. The game reserve in Mstišov is open to the public year-round and has been home to forest animals for more than three hundred years. Visitors can observe red deer, fallow deer, roe deer, wild boar, pheasants, ducks and a fox there. The first floor of Dům porcelánu s modrou krví – Modrodům houses an exhibition on the history of porcelain production in the area below the Ore Mountains.
