Discover Těmice: Tradition, Cycling Route and Outdoor Pool
Těmice between Moravian tradition and gentle hills
Těmice combines a manageable landscape with vibrant regional traditions and several opportunities for a varied stay. The town lies in a valley at an elevation of around 250 m above sea level. It is surrounded by the hills of Domanínský kopec, at 312 m, and Zadní díly, at 310 m; the Syrovínka stream flows through Těmice.
Festivals, wine and historic buildings
One of the highlights of the annual calendar is Slovácké hody, held in Těmice every year around St. Catherine’s Day. It includes věnec and káčery. The event is therefore closely connected with local traditions and gives your travel plans a specific cultural focus.
Winegrowing is also part of life in the town: the local horticultural association holds a traditional wine tasting every year. For visitors who want to combine regional culinary experiences with exploring the town, it complements Těmice’s cultural offerings. The old mill is another historically valuable building. At Folk Farmhouse No. 48, there is a protected žudro dating from the mid-19th century.
Cycling to Těmice
One clearly described way to reach Těmice actively and experience the surrounding area on two wheels is the Bzenecká vinařská stezka. The 26 km cycling route leads from Ježov to Těmice and is suitable for all categories of cyclists. The hilly sections of the Kyjovská pahorkatina in the first half of the route are more demanding.
The surface varies along the route: 80% of the Bzenecká vinařská stezka runs along quiet Class III roads, while the remaining 20% covers paved and unpaved terrain sections. Most of the route can be used year-round. The only more demanding section is the sandy passage between Bzenec and Hrubý háj near Moravský Písek. The route is therefore predominantly road-based.
Outdoor pool as another place to spend time
The Koupaliště outdoor pool in Těmice has a large pool and a small pool, a snack bar and a table tennis facility. The outdoor pool was prepared and open for the 2026 swimming season. Thus, during the 2026 swimming season, it offered a well-equipped place to spend warm days, alongside wine traditions, architectural heritage and cycling.
Getting there and other places to compare
Těmice has no railway connection. However, regular bus services connect the town with its surroundings. This difference is an important part of local orientation when choosing accommodation, especially if you are planning your arrival and further activities without a railway connection.
If you would also like to compare other places, you can include Šardice, Skalka, Nechvalín, Starý Poddvorov, Čejkovice, Tasov, Hrubá Vrbka and Mutěnice in your search.
