ÄŒejkovice

Čejkovice combines Moravian winegrowing with tangible history and a protected landscape. More than 500 hectares of vineyards and several dozen wineries shape the town. In addition, there are the historic Templar Cellars, the T. G. Masaryk House, the Church of St. Kunhuta and the Špidláky slopes. Winegrowing and special experiences

The wineries in ÄŒejkovice can also be visited throughout the year. Local winemakers welcome guests and introduce them to their wines. Winegrowing is therefore not only a feature of the landscape, but also an opportunity to experience the local character of the town at first hand. The SONNENTOR Herb Paradise offers a different perspective on regional production. There, an experiential tour takes you through the tea production process. In the herb garden, a walk also leads you to a lookout point. These two activities have different focuses: the tour explores the production process, while the garden combines your visit with an outdoor walk.

History in the church, museum and cellars

The Church of St. Kunhuta points to a foundation by German Templars in the 13th century. Its tower is 42 metres high and was added between 1890 and 1892. The historic Templar Cellars also date from the 13th century. They can be visited as part of guided tours and complement the winegrowing experience with a historic site offering its own distinctive way to visit.

The museum houses a permanent exhibition about the life of T. G. Masaryk. It is also the last surviving building in South Moravia where Masaryk lived during his childhood. Guided tours can be booked. This allows visitors to explore the site not only through its exhibits, but also through the house’s special historical connection to his biography.

Špidláky: protected slopes with rare plant life

If you would like to include a nature-focused part between exploring culture and winegrowing, the Špidláky slopes are one of Čejkovice’s distinctive attractions. They have been among the specially protected areas since 1992. More than 200 plant species grow on Špidláky, including around 80 species listed in the Red List of Threatened Species. The slopes therefore represent a different side of the town from its cellars, wineries and museums: the focus here is on protected habitats and the diversity of the plants found there.
