Discover Těšetice

Těšetice combines a distinctive cultural landscape with history and a variety of opportunities for an enjoyable stay. From sacred architecture and an important prehistoric site to golf and sport fishing, you can get to know the area from several perspectives. This makes Těšetice an appealing destination if you do not view cultural discoveries separately from the landscape and active pursuits.

Church and Archaeology

One of the area’s defining landmarks is the Church of the Most Holy Trinity in Těšetice. The late Empire-style church dates from 1843 to 1848 and was consecrated on June 18, 1848. Its period of construction gives the area a clear historical connection that can be read directly in the architecture. For you, the church is therefore a tangible starting point for experiencing Těšetice not merely as a place to stay, but also as a place with a history of its own.

A second cultural dimension is provided by the Těšetice-Kyjovice archaeological site. It lies within the cadastral area of Kyjovice and is closely linked to the municipality of Těšetice through connections and routes. The site is considered an important prehistoric site. Its rondel is particularly noteworthy: from 1968 to 1978, it was comprehensively investigated as the first example of its kind in Central Europe. Here, the term refers to the investigated prehistoric complex; for interested visitors, this creates a vivid link between the present-day municipality and a settlement history reaching far back into the past.

Stream and Orchard

The landscape can also be experienced in tangible ways in Těšetice. The Únanovský Stream flows from west to east through Těšetice and divides the municipality into a smaller northern part and a larger southern part. This geographical structure describes the area not in abstract terms, but shows how a stream organizes the settlement area.

West of Těšetice, the 90-hectare Pomona a.s. Těšetice orchard is located. Cherries, sour cherries, apples, apricots and peaches are grown there. The variety of fruit gives the cultural landscape a distinct agricultural character. If, alongside historical destinations, you would also like to experience the character of a region during your trip, this orchard is one of Těšetice’s distinctive landscape features.

Golf and Sport Fishing

For a more active stay, there is the Královská vinice Těšetice golf complex, with a nine-hole golf course and a driving range. The Těšetický Golf Club is open to the general public. The golf facilities therefore clearly distinguish between the course for playing and the driving range as a separate part of the complex. You can thus also view Těšetice as a destination where cultural sightseeing and golf stand alongside each other.

Another option, with a different focus, is offered by Fishpoint Těšetice. This is a modern fishing venue for sport fishing near Znojmo. For travelers with varied interests, this creates a clear choice between archaeology, architecture, golf and sport fishing, without requiring these offerings to be combined into a single experience.
