Braníškov combines a wooded landscape with a distinctive valley and a close-knit village culture. Around half of Braníškov’s western cadastral area lies within the Údolí Bílého potoka Nature Park. The Bílý potok Valley

The Údolí Bílého potoka Nature Park encompasses an almost 15-kilometer section of the Bílý potok. There, the stream runs through a narrow, deep, and picturesque valley in a gently undulating upland. This landscape differs markedly from an open, expansive recreational area: the valley gives the nature experience a clear spatial form, while the upland provides the broader landscape setting.

The cadastral area itself also helps define Braníškov’s character. It covers 364 hectares, more than half of which is forested. A comfortable path along the Bílý potok is suitable for walks and cycling tours. This makes it possible to combine quiet waterside paths and longer bicycle outings as different ways of getting to know the village and its landscape.

Chapel on the Village Square

A cultural point of interest is located right in the village: the Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius stands on Braníškov’s village square. It was built in 1863 and is a single-nave building in the vernacular Baroque style. Its location on the village square makes it an established part of the village scene; at the same time, the chapel’s construction date and style offer a concrete insight into local architectural history.

The village’s more recent history also includes the Cyrilometodějská pouť, which took place in Braníškov in 2025 and 2026.

Getting There and Choosing a Route

From Brno, Braníškov can be reached within the IDS system by taking train line S3 and changing to bus line 312. This provides a specific connection from the city to the village for planning a stay. Those who would like to link their visit more closely with a cycling tour can consider the “Okolo Bílého potoka a Libochůvky” route. It runs from Veverská Bítýška along the Bílý potok to Hálův mlýn and via Maršov and Braníškov to Vlkovská hájenka.

Further Aspects of the Village

In addition to the natural surroundings and the chapel, the tennis court is also part of the village’s development. It was built through the voluntary work of future club members and with financial support from the municipal office. The construction therefore reflects a specific community project in Braníškov, without making any statement about the court’s current operation or availability.
