Kuželov – Windmill, Landscape and History

If you are looking for a place with a distinctive history and special ties to the landscape, it is hard to visit Kuželov without encountering its windmill. This national cultural monument combines historic architecture, its own visitor centre and access through the White Carpathians Protected Landscape Area. There is also a recurring regional concert, historic boundary stones and a Baroque church. The Kuželov Windmill as the Main Attraction

The windmill in Kuželov was built in 1842 and is a national cultural monument. It is a Dutch-type windmill: a rotating wooden roof sits atop a solid stone structure.

It is also noteworthy that the windmill has retained its original equipment. This extends across three floors. The windmill complex includes a visitor centre housed in a historic barn building. In addition, a new building on the windmill grounds was opened to the public from 6 May.

The windmill is also associated with a regional tradition. Since 1992, the closing concert of Horňácké slavnosti has been held at the windmill in Kuželov every year. The building therefore represents not only the history of the region, but also a recurring cultural event. Another historical reference is provided by the three stones known as Tři kameny.
