Ruprechtov combines a technical cultural monument with protected landscapes and traces of history. Its themes range from milling technology and sacred art to floodplain meadows, forests, cycling and early fortifications. The transition between the edge of the village with its windmill and the Rakovecké údolí Nature Park to the west is particularly varied. Cultural history and natural surroundings thus stand side by side as distinct focal points.

The history of technology and sacred art

The windmill with its unique Halladay turbine stands on the edge of the village. This technical cultural monument was built in 1873 as a Dutch-type mill. From October to April, groups of ten or more people can arrange guided tours of the windmill. The seasonal availability and specified group size are important when planning a group excursion, while the construction type and turbine define the technical character of the place.

Another cultural landmark is the Church of Saint Wenceslas in Ruprechtov. It contains three frescoes created by the Brno artist Ludvík Kolek in 1963 and was consecrated on 28 September 1946. The historic building heritage also includes the thatched-roof cottage dating from 1813. It is designated as a protected cultural monument and is accessible during events or by prior telephone arrangement.

Natural surroundings west of Ruprechtov

The Rakovecké údolí Nature Park lies west of Ruprechtov. The floodplains of the Rakovec stream are protected in the Rakovecké stráně a údolí bledulí nature reserve. In spring, large stands of protected snowflakes bloom there. The U Tří smrků meadow in the cadastral area of Ruprechtov offers a different landscape impression: it lies amid forests consisting predominantly of spruce and beech, and three monumental spruces stand on it. Thus, wet floodplains and distinctive woodland landscapes meet as separate natural themes in the surrounding area.

For cyclists, cycle route No. 5072 from Kuchlov to Habrovany passes through Ruprechtov. The history of the surrounding area is also evident in several places. Remains of defensive ramparts and ditches have been preserved at Hradiště Černov. The Hradiště Černov oppidum lies between Račice, Ježkovice and Ruprechtov in the Rakovecké údolí Nature Park. In the immediate vicinity of Ruprechtov, Kuchlov and Hrádek are recorded as ruins. Hamlíkov is a vanished village 1 km northeast of Ruprechtov.

In the immediate vicinity, Kuchlov is also recorded as a hill, while Urban is recorded as a mountain in the wider regional surroundings. The various landforms, ruins and memorial sites thus complement the local focal points of nature, technology and history.
