Lisky Between Forests, Springs and Culture

Lisky brings together several clearly distinct themes in a travel plan where nature and cultural history stand side by side. Lišky (Lísky) is surrounded by forest; Svatá Anna lies near Lísky in deep woodland at an altitude of 610 metres. The surrounding area also features mountains, historic ecclesiastical buildings and Chýnovská Cave. Svatá Anna and the History of the Spa

Svatá Anna is home to a small pilgrimage church dedicated to Saint Anne. Beside it stands a Baroque, centrally planned hexagonal chapel built above a spring. Leopold Vilém Kolowrat-Krakowsky had it built in 1772, founded a spa there and had the church extended. Every year, a pilgrimage procession to the church of Svatá Anna takes place on the Sunday after 25 July. The church and chapel stand beneath old lime and oak trees.

The site's former use as a spa is also part of its character. The former Svatá Anna spa comprised a bathing building with five cabins and, at the edge of the forest, a large open-air swimming pool with ten cabins. The bathing building with five cabins and the open-air pool with ten cabins represent two differently organised areas of the former spa. For your visit, Svatá Anna therefore offers several perspectives: you can consider a religious site, a Baroque architectural ensemble at a spring and a chapter in the region's spa history together.

Mountains and Forest Landscapes in the Surrounding Area

The area around Lísky is home to Mount Hora, the mountain (K Doubravě) [Radenín-Bítov], Mount Tlučin and Mount Vrchy. These four elevations complement the landscape around this forested locality and provide further specific reference points for orientation. Depending on whether ecclesiastical buildings, natural surroundings or an active pursuit are the focus of your travel planning, you can assign different priorities to the destinations without combining the individual places into an unsupported single complex.

Chýnovská Cave and a Documented Cycling Tour

Chýnovská Cave was prepared and opened to the public in 1868. A cycling tour to Chýnovská Cave runs from Vlčeves via Lišky (Lísky) and on to Nové Dvory and Pořín. The wider region around Lísky also contains the church of Svatý Jan and Želivský Kláštor Monastery. This gives you both a site of cultural and historical interest, a specific route sequence and additional ecclesiastical buildings in the surrounding region for further research.
