Tlučná – Monuments, Park and Cycle Path

Tlučná between local history and active days

A wayside cross at the corner of the cemetery leads in Tlučná to a remarkable piece of local history: the Boží muka wayside shrine is considered the oldest monument in the village, and the year 1079 is carved into the monument. The listed Panský dvůr complex with chapel also tells of Tlučná’s past. It is located in the centre of the village, north of the Plzeň–Domažlice railway line. Of the originally listed site, only underground rooms beneath the former fortress, a Neoclassical granary and a Neo-Gothic chapel have survived. It is precisely this combination of visible structures and preserved remains that makes the site interesting for travellers who want to discover not just a single attraction but the development of a place.

Historical traces with a fixed date

The history of Tlučná can be traced in written records back to 1115. The first written mention of the village is recorded in a document from that year. The Přemyslid prince Vladislav I donated the village to the newly founded Benedictine monastery in Kladruby, thereby obliging the monastery to protect the village. Those interested in the history of Bohemian settlements will therefore find both a specific point of departure in time and several different forms of historical remembrance here: the wayside cross, the complex with chapel and the documented connection to the monastery in Kladruby.

Krimich Park: Green space, playground and disc golf

Krimich Park shows another side of Tlučná. It covers an area of 3.5 hectares with plantings of trees and shrubs, created in the built-up area of Tlučná to improve recreational opportunities. For a stay with children, the mining-themed playground is particularly interesting: it was ceremonially opened on 9 September 2021 and refers to Tlučná’s mining past. In 2022, disc golf baskets were also installed in the park. In addition to its trees and shrubs, the park therefore offers concrete starting points for various ideas for a day out.

Water and cycling as further aspects of the village

The Tlučná Koupaliště includes a 50 × 25 metre main pool. The Koupaliště also has a water slide. Those who want to combine their travel plans with a stay involving water-based activities will find a clearly described facility within the village, without losing sight of Tlučná’s historical highlights.

For cyclists, the path between Tlučná and Vejprnice is another concrete option. It runs through the valley of the Vejprnický potok and is connected to the existing cycle network. The route connects Tlučná with Vejprnice and is also located in a river floodplain. When choosing accommodation, this aspect can be just as important as the local history: you can choose Tlučná according to your preferred focus, such as culture, parks, water or a cycling tour.
