History and unusual sights

The history of Líně can be traced in written records back to 1115. At that time, the village was first mentioned in a document of Kladruby Monastery. A more prominent and considerably more recent place of remembrance is the Military Airmen Memorial. It commemorates the activities of the 5th Fighter Squadron and features a MiG-19 PM fighter aircraft. Líně is therefore not only about general local history, but also about a specific chapter in military aviation.

The presumed original occupations of the population also give the village its own character. In addition to agriculture, they included fish farming and basket making. Those interested in the development of rural communities and local craft traditions will therefore find several historical themes here that extend beyond a single attraction.

Circular trail and cycling routes

For an active stay, the Líňská okružní trasa is described particularly specifically: the circular trail runs for twelve kilometres around Líně and was created in 2012 by the municipality of Líně together with the Líně local branch of the KČT. Visiting the Military Airmen Memorial can be combined with a route choice, as the memorial is located directly on cycle route 2271 and the Líňská okružní trasa. This allows you to discover Líně either through its history or through the combination of a visit to the village and a circular route.

Fishing, outdoor swimming pool and events

Okružinka (U Křížků) in Líně forms the 3.75-hectare RADBUZA 1 C/R fishing district; fishing is permitted there. Sport fishing is also offered at Hráz-Sulkov. These two fishing opportunities differ from the rest of the leisure activities and appeal to travellers who would like to add a peaceful waterside activity to their stay.

The Sportovní areál Líně offers an outdoor swimming pool as well as sports, music events, festivals and opportunities for barbecuing. This gives your itinerary a different daily rhythm than a purely cultural or hiking tour. The Líně local branch of the KČT also organises three important tourism events in Líně every year. The Líňský maraton is a recurring hiking and cycling day; the 39th edition was scheduled for 9 May 2026.
