Chrastavice: Village Square, Burial Mounds and Viewpoint

Chrastavice combines a historically shaped village centre with distinctive traces of the past and clear destinations for routes in the surrounding area. The village square area is particularly characteristic: here, the Neo-Romanesque Chapel of the Holy Trinity, a water basin and preserved farmsteads from the transition between the 19th and 20th centuries come together. Chrastavice is also home to a cross stone, or reconciliation cross, on a grass-covered embankment. It is visible from the main road between Domažlice and Milavče. Burial Mounds and Trails Towards Milavče

The Chrastavice burial mound field is registered as an immovable cultural monument under registration number ÚSKP 18793/4-4033. It consists of three groups near forest paths. On the road to Milavče, there is a location marker and an information board, making it possible to identify the historic site specifically in the terrain.

The trail layout also makes the burial mound field an important orientation point. At the junction there, the blue-marked hiking trail branches south towards Chrastavice and east towards Milavče. From Chrastavice, a blue-marked trail leads for approximately 800 metres to Chrastavická vyhlídka. This makes it possible to connect the village centre, cultural-historical traces and a viewpoint destination, each with a different focus.

Chrastavická vyhlídka and Route M1

Chrastavická vyhlídka is a wooden observation tower approximately five metres high, built in spring 2012. It is freely accessible and has a rest area with an information board. This gives you a clearly described destination from Chrastavice, rather than leaving the viewpoint merely as an abstract landscape point on the map.

For longer-distance route orientation, the 34-kilometre M1 route (1411) is also significant. It leads from Domažlice via Chrastavice, Milavče, Hradiště, Netřeb, Všepadly and the Klatovsko region to Švihov.
