Discover Kvíčovice
Forest, Water and History in Kvíčovice
Kvíčovice combines nature experiences, cycling and an accessible account of local history. The village is presented particularly concretely on the Lesní naučná stezka Kvíčovice: The nature trail has three stations focusing on water, wind and perspective and is intended especially for children. This makes an activity that introduces different age groups to the surroundings through accessible topics the focal point. The Lesní naučná stezka Kvíčovice is also freely accessible all year round.
A Nature Trail for Curious Explorers
The three stations of the Lesní naučná stezka Kvíčovice have different focuses. Water, wind and perspective give the route a clear thematic structure rather than merely describing a path through the landscape. Families can therefore enjoy an outing with several small opportunities for discovery: Children can engage with the individual topics while adults make connections between observing nature and the surrounding area. Its explicit designation for children is part of the nature trail's character and should be taken into account when planning a day together.
Cycle Route and Water Landscape
The 95-kilometre red Dálková cyklotrasa long-distance cycle route for touring cyclists passes through Kvíčovice.
Another distinctive location is the Návesní rybník in Kvíčovice. It was created on the site of an exhausted quarry. This history makes the pond an example of how a place shaped by previous use can acquire a new landscape function. The object lehkého opevnění vz. 36 Kvíčovice, a light fortification, is also located on the slope above the Návesní rybník. Together, these two details connect the water landscape and local history without presenting them as a single attraction.
Local History and Traditions
Kvíčovice was first mentioned in written sources in 1379. This long-documented history continues in individual and very different traces. The chapel of Kvíčovice was probably built sometime in the 18th century. Its dating therefore remains deliberately cautious and points to a historic local feature whose origin should not be equated with an exactly verified year of construction.
A different development is represented by the Brož blacksmithing and farriery tradition in Kvíčovice. It can be traced back to 1871. Together with the chapel and the first written mention, it creates a timeline spanning medieval local history, the 18th century and a craft tradition from the 19th century.
An Exhibition at the Municipal Office
The Miniexpozice Štěpánky Haničincové is located in the Kvíčovice municipal office building. The exhibition provides information about the life of Štěpánka Haničincová and includes an interactive room where visitors can watch some of her television programmes. It thus complements the historical and landscape themes with a biographical insight. The village therefore offers not only a nature trail and a cycle route, but also a specific opportunity to engage with a personality and her life.
