Discover Lavičné
Lavičné between cycle route and local history
Lavičné combines a specific stopover for cyclists with historical attractions. Cycle Route No. 4201 runs through Lavičné, giving a cycling tour a clear connection to Lavičné. At the same time, the Bělský potok flows through Lavičné, adding a natural element to the built heritage of the village. This combination of route, stream and rural surroundings gives Lavičné a clearly recognisable character of its own.
There are specific places in the village where you can take a break. In Lavičné, landscaped parks with benches serve as resting places. Additional seating is available in the village square. Cyclists can find refreshments at Hospoda Na rozcestí. Rest and refreshments remain closely connected with the village scenery and complement your exploration without overshadowing the historic character of Lavičné.
Chapel, bell and places of remembrance
The oldest monument in Lavičné is the Chapel of St. John and Paul, dating from the late 18th century. Its furnishings date from the early 19th century. At the chapel, you can therefore see a building and furnishings from different periods. The chapel also has a bell: following a collection in 1991, it was cast at the Marie Dytrychová-Tomášková bell foundry in Brodek u Přerova. The bell introduces a significantly more recent date into the chapel’s historical context. Its history can therefore be considered separately, without equating the dates of the building’s construction and its later furnishings.
In front of the chapel, a monument commemorates the Austro-Italian War of 1866. This place of remembrance therefore relates to a different historical event from the chapel itself. The school building and several original farmsteads are also part of the village’s heritage. The school building points to a public function within the village, while the original farmsteads make another part of its architectural history visible. As you explore, you will therefore gain an impression not only of sacred architecture, but also of places of remembrance and rural buildings with different functions.
A regional ecological classification
Lavičné is designated as Regional Biocentre No. 1955 within the regional ecological network. The number indicates the specific classification of the site within this network. The term “biocentre” places Lavičné in an ecological context; it is not a term for a building and does not indicate a historical date. For exploration, this designation provides an additional objective perspective on the village. It stands alongside the visible village scenery without being equated with individual buildings.
