Koruna in the Czech Republic is situated on a hill and combines experiences in nature with a remarkable local history. The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a landmark of the village of Koruna. In the vicinity of Koruna, the former Koruna Panny Marie monastery became a pilgrimage site visited by pilgrims from the wider surrounding area. Its historical development can still be traced through visible remains today: visible remains of the Gothic Augustinian monastery Koruna Panny Marie are located in the vicinity of Koruna, within the cadastral area of Třebařov. The monastery was founded in 1267 and fell into ruin in 1552.

A documented village festival

In Koruna, the traditional burning of the witches took place on April 26 in both 2024 and 2025. The festival included a bonfire, a witch effigy, and mackerel. Alongside its landscape and history, these two past dates also give the town its own tradition in the annual cycle.
