Třebařov between monastery ruins, wetlands and Cycle Route 4221

Třebařov combines a multifaceted local history with hilly, wooded landscapes and distinctive natural sites. If you would like to combine culture, nature observation and cycling, you will find a range of experiences here: the Church of the Holy Trinity in the upper part of the village, the ruins of the Koruna Panny Marie Monastery in the lower part, and the Nohavice Biocenter outside the built-up areas.

Wetland, River and Wooded Surroundings

The Nohavice Biocenter is a functioning wetland complex consisting of the Nohavice and Křtěný ponds, with near-natural conditions. The birdlife is particularly noteworthy for those interested in nature: the area provides a natural refuge for waterfowl, including herons, swans and coots. The character of the site is not defined by the ponds alone. In the northern part of Třebařov, the Moravská Sázava flows through the municipality outside the built-up areas.

The surroundings of Třebařov are hilly and wooded. They are suitable for recreation and mushroom picking, offering a different focus from the historical sights within the village. Church and Small Monuments in the Upper Part of the Village

The Church of the Holy Trinity is located in the upper part of Třebařov. A church was built in Třebařov in 1720; in 1769 it was rebuilt and subsequently dedicated to the Holy Trinity. The building's history also includes the sacristy: it is a chapel from 1736 that originated from the original church. Catholic worshippers regularly gather in the church for services led by the local parish priest, Father Karel Macků.

Another striking detail is the Nejsvětější Trojice sculpture group from 1820. It stands on a high, richly decorated pedestal with reliefs of saints. The southern stone wayside shrine near Třebařov also tells part of the village's history. Its upper section is decorated with a relief of a cross with a ladder and what are probably mining tools. According to the inscription, Jakob Winkler from Malá Strana had the monument erected on 17 August 1673.

The historic villagescape also includes a memorial to those who fell in the First World War. It is considered a rare example of sophisticated German memorial art in the region and was designed by the architect O. Czepa. Třebařov therefore also offers individual stops away from the larger structures, where local history and design come together.

Koruna Monastery and Cycle Route 4221

In the lower part of Třebařov, the ruins of the old Koruna Panny Marie Monastery rise above the surrounding landscape. In 1267, Boreš z Rýzmburka founded the Augustinian monastery of Maria Kron (Koruna Panny Marie) here. The ruins preserve the monumental walls of a former early Gothic single-nave church, fragments of Gothic window tracery and a wooden bell tower. The monastery grounds are freely accessible; an information board provides basic information about the complex.

The surroundings of Třebařov are criss-crossed by cycle paths, making them suitable for active exploration. Designated Cycle Route 4221 runs through the municipality. It connects Koruna Monastery, Tatenice Château, the ponds of Lanškroun and the watershed between the Elbe and Danube. If your travel group has different interests, you can therefore plan your choice of location around a daily rhythm combining cultural stops, landscapes and cycling.

The Krasíkov railway stop is nearby. ČD railway line No. 270 runs from Česká Třebová via Zábřeh na Moravě, Olomouc and Přerov.
