Opukové jeskyně: a natural feature with a clear limitation

One of the striking natural features is Opukové jeskyně. The cave is 400 metres long and lies on the left slope of the valley of a stream flowing in from Študlov. It is located above the former municipality and settlement of Bradlné. For planning purposes, it is essential to note that Opukové jeskyně is inaccessible. It is therefore part of the village’s landscape and geological character, but it is not a cave that can be entered as a visitor attraction. This distinction is particularly useful when setting your expectations: you can include this natural feature in your exploration of the surroundings without assuming that a visit inside the cave is possible.

An exceptional tree and a route through the village

Another example is the protected European beech serving as a commemorative tree. Its trunk circumference is 555 centimetres, it is 30 metres tall, and its age is estimated at 300 years. The precise measurements and age estimate make the tree a particularly vivid part of the village’s features. Together with the cycle path running through Rozhraní, it creates a transition between observing the landscape and active travel. The cycle path provides a concrete route through the village; further route details or distances have not been specified.

Rozhraní as a historic border settlement

The history of the village has been shaped by borders. Rozhraní was always situated on the border between the administrative regions of Bohemia and Moravia, as well as on the boundary of the dioceses of Hradec Králové, Olomouc and Brno. Following the events of Munich in 1938, the border between the reduced Czechoslovak Republic and the Sudetenland ran through Rozhraní. This development makes the village interesting for travellers who want to understand not only individual buildings but also the changing political and ecclesiastical territories.
