The parish church of St. Catherine in Horní Roveň is first mentioned in 1349. The present-day Church of St. Catherine was built later, from 1697 to 1699, on the site of an earlier wooden church. The former wooden church is the predecessor of the present building and is therefore part of its architectural history. Thus, a medieval first mention and the building history of the present-day sacred structure stand side by side at this site.

Another historical point of reference lies in Komárov: the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul acquired its present form in 1877. With its present form dating from 1877, the church in Komárov is younger than the present-day church in Horní Roveň. In addition to the churches, Dolní Roveň also has a secular building that is a cultural heritage site: the school at house numbers 200, 201 and 205 is registered as a cultural monument.
