Discover Dříteč: Elbe Cycle Route, Nature and Culture

Dříteč offers various ways to experience a stay in the Czech Elbe landscape: historic sacred architecture, protected nature, cycling, and a vibrant regional tradition are presented as different lines of experience. Particularly appealing is the combination of tranquil cultural monuments and the documented sections of the Hradubická-Labská Cycle Route. Church and Small Cultural Monuments

The Church of St. Peter and Paul stands in the eastern part of Dříteč’s historic settlement area. The present building was constructed between 1749 and 1758. It replaced an older church building that had been destroyed at another location. This building history gives the visit a tangible historical context: the church is not merely an individual structure, but also points to an earlier development of the locality and settlement.

Dříteč’s smaller cultural monuments also include four stone crosses. They add simple historical evidence to the character of the locality and provide another discovery alongside the church. Visitors who, when exploring a place, take notice not only of major buildings but also of smaller traces of the past will find several different points of connection here.

Protected Elbe Nature

An important landscape feature is the Tůň u Hrobic natural monument. It protects a dead arm of the Elbe with natural flora and fauna and extends across the cadastral areas of Dříteč and Hrobice. Here, the term refers to a former river channel that has been preserved as an independent habitat. The focus is therefore not only on the open river landscape, but also on a particularly distinctive part of the Elbe system.

The Dřítečský topol is located in the northern part of Tůň u Hrobic. This memorial tree is a representative of the old natural lowland flora of the Elbe.

Cycling Along the Elbe

One section of the Hradubická-Labská Cycle Route runs along the Elbe to the wastewater treatment plant in Dříteč and ends at a local road in the municipality. Another section leads from Dříteč along the Elbe to the bridge to Němčice.

Tradition and Further Experiences

The traditional Masopust celebration in Dříteč symbolically marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring. The festivities include a procession and Masopust specialities. This adds a seasonal cultural accent to the landscape and architectural history. Masopust describes the character of the event and does not automatically indicate a specific current date.

The Kunětická Hora golf course was designed by Australian golf-course designer Graham Marsh. Golf & Spa Kunětická Hora also includes Cedrus Spa, with a public sauna area, open-air cooling facilities, and a sauna bar.
